What can you do to increase the open and response rates of your email? I bet you use the AIDA model (action, interest, desire, and action) when creating the copy and personalizing it. Sending a follow-up after no response doesn’t have to be awkward. In the first and every subsequent sales follow-up email, you have to show your respect for the customer’s time. Follow-up email is an essential element in the process of building relationships with customers. During conversations, you get to know each other and reveal your true intentions, so don’t give up if there’s no reaction. Use the follow-up email templates, and stick to a few rules:
Always send an email with fresh copy. Don’t use content you’ve already included in a previous message.
Give your customer some time to think and respond. A one or two day break between emails isn’t enough, and you’ll just look like a desperate salesperson looking for opportunities.
Don’t send a goodbye or breakup email. All you have to do is let go for a moment, and then follow up. Maybe it wasn’t a good time for your customer and, in a few months, your support will be a good fit.
Be polite, even if you are rejected. Your customer might be busy and not have time to talk. You don’t have to take it personally and add an extra story to it. Just accept it and move on.
Don’t use clickbait subject lines. Cheaters never prosper. Clickbait emails are quite upsetting. Those messages won’t stay in the customer’s inbox for a long time because they immediately go into the trash folder. You don’t want that. What you do want is to be concise and helpful.
